- You can choose any project of your choice and pricing rates.
- Work from home.
- Copywriting can be your side hustle.
Disadvantages of Freelance Copywriting
- You can lose motivation
- Unstable earnings .
- Taking jobs, you don’t like.
- It is tough to learn on the job.
- Unless you are an introvert like I am and love staying indoors, you get to stay home a lot.
Advantages of In house Copywriting
- Stable income.
- Mentorship
- You get contracted by big companies and brands.
- Hone your crafts with the help of a mentor.
Disadvantages
- Fixed salary.
- Professional environment.
- Writing projects you might not like.
- Working late to complete project deadlines.
BEGINNING YOUR FREELANCING BUSINESS
These are steps you should embark on if you are an amateur in the copywriting freelancing business.
- Finding the part, you might be good at:
Think about the part of copywriting you can be good at:
1. Articles.
2. Blog posts.
3. Emails
4. Social media management.
5. Search Engine Optimization
6. Video
You can always move on if your first choice was a bust.
- Search for clients:
Finding clients can be hard at the beginning, many people log on to websites like Upwork to search for clients but they are other ways to do this.
Social websites, Questions, and Answers websites are also places you can find prospective customers, these are places most clients spend most of their time.
Visit these websites consistently, this way, you can find clients and work up a good reputation.
- Learn about the pricing rates:
There is no confirmed rate for copywriting jobs, most writers are get paid peanuts by the client, but if you are a beginner, you might have to do jobs for free to gain client’s
experience is found this way.
You will eventually have to charge for money. these are rates you should use.
1. Hourly: you can get paid hourly by the client; this stops them from adding more work when they feel like it. As a beginner, my best advice is to charge hourly.

This means getting many clients and growing your side hustle, and the best way you should go about this is by getting prospective clients from your clientele, known as “referrals.”
