Why are Facebook Down, WhatsApp, and Instagram down?

Apparently, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp suffered a major outage. According to the Down Detector website, the social network and platforms owned by Facebook CEO will stop working around 11:30 a.m. Monday morning ET. The outage affects nearly 7 billion users across all three platforms. Users visiting the Facebook site saw an error page or a message on the screen that said, “Sorry, 5xxx error something went wrong here. Experts are working on it and will be resolved as soon as possible.”

Instagram and WhatsApp do not show new or updated content. Messages appeared on Instagram that included “Could not update feed” or “Server Error 5xx”. Facebook did not immediately respond to the request for comment.

Just a comment about Facebook down

Maybe it would be good for most people if FB is out forever. We doubt that will happen, but it is strange that they destroyed all three platforms around the world at around the same time. I really enjoyed life before FB, using Upwork. Likewise, I am sure that now we can enjoy life without it.

The reason in details

All of the three social media apps, all owned by the popular Facebook and running on a shared infrastructure, stopped working just before 5 p.m. Other related products, such as Facebook site, Messenger app, and Workplace, no longer work.

At the time of writing, it is unclear what is causing the problem, although the company has already faced outages. Facebook has had its DNS records extracted from the global routing tables. This is according to Brian Krebs, a cybersecurity expert who runs a popular blog.

What error is seen Now that Facebook Down is Trending

Using a little less nerdy language, this means that Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and presumably the rest have removed their data from the Internet address book. When you type one of these URLs in your internet browser, you should be able to talk to Facebook and ask where to go, but it has revoked the system that does this.
It’s like showing up at the Facebook office for a meeting, but the receptionist isn’t there. You (or your computer) are simply stuck at your desk because you (or she) don’t know the door number of the office you are trying to reach. (Or something like that analogy).

Conclusion

It is not clear why this happened. Facebook is so big that it manages its own DNS, unlike other smaller companies, so only someone on Facebook would have the power to stop it. You can register here to chat with friends. Invite friends to this platform.
